MESA, Ariz. — The Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Authority Board of Directors welcomed new City of Mesa Mayor John Giles to the Board. Mayor Giles will initially serve as the Board Treasurer. The Airport Authority elects the chair and other officers from the
six board members on an annual basis.
“I’ve enjoyed watching Gateway Airport establish itself and grow during my previous time on City Council,” said Mesa Mayor John Giles. “With over $1.3 billion in annual economic impact, the aerospace industry has realized that Gateway Airport is the place
to do business. With three long runways, 1,000 acres of land to develop, and improved freeway access, we are poised for even bigger things at Gateway and the surrounding area.”
Mayor John Giles replaces former City of Mesa Mayor Alex Finter on the Board.
